How To Make Your Own Candles

Candle making has been around for hundreds of years and back in the day candles where the only source of light.  Now most people buy candles to add a touch of sweet scents to their home or office.  Now the question is “how to make your own candle?”  If you are like me you burn lots of candles in a week and over time that can become pretty expensive.  As a guy, I love burning candles and I love the way a room smell when a candle is burning.

A few years ago, I would burn at least 20 candles in a week time.  When I was burning candles I never stop the think about how much money I was spending at the time.  But when you sit down and think about the cost, candles are expensive.  The candle making people know what they are doing.  You will see a commercial for some type of candle at least three times a day and you can get hooked on them.  Once you walk into a room with a candle burning and you like the way that smells, you want to always have that smell or something similar all the time.  Most good candles will cost you around $3.00 each and 3 x 20 = $60 a week.  That’s a lot of money on candles.  So I decided I need to learn how to make my own candles, and it took me awhile to get the hang of it, but I got it.

There is a lot of trial and error when it comes to making your own candles and you waste some money at first getting the hang of it.  So here are a few of the items you will need to make your candles:

  • Candle Wax
  • Wax Carrier
  • Additives
